  • iPads get a user interface designed to make use of the large screen area, with Split-view and Slide-over support.
iPhones and iPod Touches get a user interface designed for the smaller screen. This includes large, easy to read scientific buttons, accessed on a scrolling panel. All the features of the iPad version are included in the smaller design.
Customisable for each level of vision

Normal to low vision: Large, clear buttons with optional speech.

Low vision: High contrast display mode, with optional speech.

No vision / blind: VoiceOver reads the button names before they are activated and also calculation results. Entry and display on refreshable Braille devices. Switch control accessible.

Why record new voices?

Having your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch talk with your own voice, or that of a friend or tutor will make the calculator sound more natural to you. The calculator will speak with the accent you are used to hearing.

Selfie - Sound Activated

  • Name: Selfie - Sound Activated
  • Platforms: iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch 5G
  • Technology: Xamarin
Intro

Take crisply focused photos of yourself, friends or landscapes with your camera resting on a stable shelf, like a tripod.

Enjoy the fun, creative freedom of having free hands while taking selfies. Use the front or rear camera.

Review your selfie photos, trashing the worst and moving the best to your Camera Roll or image-editing apps, like Photos.

You can also share your selfies with friends in a message, email, Tweet, Facebook post or AirDrop transfer.

  • The monkey is always positioned near the front camera lens. If you look at the monkey when creating a selfie, you will avoid taking photos where your eyes are looking the wrong way.
  • The monkey indicates when the app is listening or not listening.
  • After hearing your command, the monkey will count you in, then take your photo.

Tapping the monkey will cause him to switch between listening and not-listening.

Microphone sensitivity is automatically adjusted, based on background noise.

Scrolling RPN Calculator

  • Name: Scrolling RPN Calculator
  • Platforms: iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch 5G
  • Technology: Xamarin
Intro

The only fully featured scientific RPN calculator with a modern iOS interface: Scroll through panels of operation-buttons with a swipe of your finger.

Scroll through numbers to review (and edit) your entries and calculation results. Share or transfer your results by emailing the stack.

The Scrolling Scientific Calculator gives you fast access to both basic and scientific operations with large buttons in both portrait and landscape orientations.

Features Include
  • Adding machine: What is the most common use for a calculator? Adding numbers, of course! Just enter the numbers, review them by scrolling, with a swipe of your finger, then hit the [total] button. No more entering numbers twice to check your calculation.
  • Statistics: Enter the numbers, review them by scrolling, with a swipe of your finger, then hit the [stats] button. The following statistics are added to the stack and labelled:
    Count,
    Total,
    Total Of Squares,
    Product,
    Maximum,
    Minimum,
    Range,
    Mean,
    Median,
    Mode,
    Root Mean Square,
    Geometric Mean,
    Variance,
    Unbiased Sample Variance,
    Population Standard Deviation,
    Sample Standard Deviation.
  • No awkward 80's style retro interface: Scroll through panels of large operation buttons by swiping left and right.
  • Operations include: total, count, mean, median, mode, variance, standard deviation (population & sample), trigonometric, hyperbolic, logarithmic, powers, roots, inverse, factorial, percent, add, subtract, multiply, divide, etc.
  • Value formatting: Specify either the number of significant digits, or number of fraction digits after the decimal point. International number formats with group separator.
  • Display numbers as hexadecimal by simply scrolling to the hexadecimal panel.
  • Reverse Polish notation (RPN) operation.
The Scrolling RPN Calculator is ideal for:
  • Anyone who adds numbers together (e.g. receipt values.)
  • Anyone recording sample readings to find averages, variances and standard deviations.
  • Anyone who wants a scientific RPN calculator, and is looking for a modern, uncluttered interface ideal for their iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
  • Kids (!) learning to add and subtract love entering the numbers and seeing them on the screen before they hit the + or - operation buttons. They can talk through the operation as it happens.

Note: This is an RPN calculator, so there is no "=" button. Proposed in the 1950s by Australian philosopher Charles L Hamblin, RPN is the way most people would actually calculate an expression in their head or on paper: "1 enter 2 enter +" instead of "1 + 2 =".

.edu Browser

  • Name: edu Browser
  • Platforms: iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch
  • Technology: Objective-C
Intro

.edu Browser is the only app on the AppStore to solve the following problem:

You have responsible parents, or you are responsible parents that have set the restrictions on your student’s iOS device. Safari is disabled and there are no web-browsers available to you.

The problem is that without any browser, you can’t even visit your school’s own web-site or intranet. Many schools these days are providing calendars, forms, files and more via their intranet or web-site.

Features Include
  • .edu Browser gives access to .edu and .gov web-site URLs and blocks access to ALL other internet sites. It also gives access to intranet pages that are connected to the same local network as the iOS device. This includes school and work local networks but excludes the internet. This level of restriction allows the app to have a low, 9+ rating.
  • Create a list of bookmarked URLs for fast viewing. Web pages are displayed in full-screen view, with three buttons sitting in the bottom right hand corner: Refresh, Back and Bookmarks.
Further Details
  • .edu domains include URLs with country codes, for example, .edu.au
  • .gov domains include URLs with country codes, for example, .gov.au
  • Intranet URLs are of the format: {server} or {server}:{port}, for example, apollos:8080. The {server} name cannot contain '.' characters.
  • Supports both http:// and https:// connections.
  • Handles username / password authentication.

Emerald Rush

  • Name: Emerald Rush
  • Platforms: iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch 5G, Android, Mac, PC
  • Technology: C++, GameMaker Studio
Intro

Guide our hero through the gauntlet of abandoned mine levels, collecting emeralds, diamonds and other valuables.

The local township speaks (behind closed doors) of bug and alien infestations. Such rumors don't concern you, right? Surely aliens wouldn't come all the way to Earth just to hide underground? Of course not.

However, there are readings of elevated temperatures. Tectonic activity releasing hot lava into the mine is the official reason for the closure. Your heat-resistant jetpack suit will protect you, as long as you don't come in direct contact.

You'll also want to keep an eye out for those that have entered the mine ahead of you but not returned. Who knows, you might return both rich and a hero!

If only you could find the entrance on this dark and stormy night...

This is a re-imagining of the 80's classic genre of boulders and gems, introducing action, adventure, gravity, water & lava dynamics.

Game play: Behind each door, the green emeralds need to be collected before your jetpack runs out of fuel. Solve puzzles and avoid dangers in this beautiful and musical adventure.

Original music score, by Stewart Croser.

Replay-able: Subtle variations in the physics simulation means that each time you play, the experience is unique.
